Cycle 1 Bundle

Visual students will appreciate Grammar Nerds Club's Brashcards' color-coding for various parts of speech as they learn to diagram sentences. The front of each card features a sentence that students will diagram on the included worksheets. Parents can laminate the cards for extra durability and to allow students to write on the fronts of the cards with markers as they parse each word. After the student has finished, simply flip over the card to determine whether their parsing and diagram is correct.

Our Cycle 1 bundle collects the 5 following sets of Brashcards:

• ANCIENT HISTORY (96 sentences)
  Beginning with Creation and with simple sentence construction, these Brashcards will provide students with an opportunity to practice their diagramming skills in increasing detail as they progress all the way to the resurrection of Jesus and compound-complex constructions.
  
• SCIENCE 1 (96 sentences)
  Our Science 1 Brashcards set includes 96 Earth science-themed sentences. Touching on the subjects of cells, plants, geology, and meteorology, the cards will provide students with an opportunity to practice their diagramming skills in increasing detail as they progress from simple to compound-complex sentence constructions.
  
• DETECTIVES IN TOGAS (20 sentences)
  This set of Brashcards features sentences inspired by Detectives in Togas {affiliate link}, a delightful history-mystery that aligns with Classical Conversations’ Cycle 1 curriculum.
  
• THE PSALMS (20 sentences)
  These Brashcards feature scriptures from the book of Psalms in a variety of simple, compound, complex, and compound-complex sentences.
  
• THE SECRETS OF VESUVIUS (20 sentences)
  These Brashcard sentences present mystery and adventure through four young detectives during Ancient Roman times in The Secrets of Vesuvius (affiliate link), the second book in The Roman Mysteries series by Caroline Lawrence (affiliate link).
  

Each set includes the Brashcards, a set of worksheets that students can use for parsing and diagramming each sentence, and a master list of sentences that parents can use to dictate sentences to help students practice their handwriting and spelling.

This product is a digital download: by your purchase, you are acknowledging that no physical cards will be shipped to you. The product contains sets of PDF files that can be downloaded and viewed on a computer or printed on card stock and cut to make  individual cards (each sized 5.5" x 4.25").

Brashcards are designed to complement a complete grammar curriculum such as Classical Conversations' Essentials program.
